 Introduction:

For the past 18 years, Don Turner has provided excellent, reliable bird shooting for thousands of clients. The dove, quail and duck populations in Eastern Mexico, especially in the areas around Hacienda Don Quixote, are unmatched in North America. Clients visiting Hacienda Don Quixote, Don Turners newest and most prestigious resort, will experience a great quantity of birds, excellent food, clean and comfortable accommodations and a friendly and knowledgeable staff, all accompanied by warm, Mexican hospitality.

 The Lodge:

One of the most luxurious hunting lodges in all of Mexico, Hacienda Don Quixote is located 2 ½ hours south of the border in a lush, rainforest like environment, featuring such amenities as a giant pool with swim-up bar, a Jacuzzi seating 12 comfortably, billiard table, poker room, cigar and cognac bar, restaurant and a charming Mexican Plaza.

 Seasons:

White Wing Dove season runs from mid-August to late October and the Quail, Duck, Geese and Mourning Dove season runs from early November through February. Bass Fishing at Lake Guererro is offered year round.

 Itinerary:

The dove hunts are 2 night/3day (4 hunts), 3 night/4 day (6 hunts), or 4 night/5 day (8 hunts) packages on set days (please inquire for available dates at our office). The combo hunts operate on the same basis.

 Accommodations:

Hacienda Don Quixote accommodates 42 guests during the White Wing Dove season in comfortable air-conditioned rooms, each with private bath, Satellite TV, mini-bar and direct-dial phones. During the quail and combination season, the maximum capacity is 20 guests.

 Airport/Arrival:

All guests should arrange their flights into the McAllen International Airport located in McAllen (MFE), Texas (WE WILL BE GLAD TO HANDLE YOUR AIRLINE RESERVATIONS FOR YOU). We recommend you spend the night at the Hilton Garden Inn (Tel 956-664-2900) from which we depart between 7:30 am and 9:00 am (you will be given the exact departure time during your check-in at the hotel). If you are driving to McAllen and plan to arrive on the morning of departure, you will need to meet up with us at the hotel lobby - please call us a day prior you arrival for the exact departure time.

Depending on the amount of time it takes to cross the border, driving time is approximately 2 ½ hours. Our bilingual staff has years of experience crossing hunters into Mexico and it is our goal to ensure a smooth and quick border crossing. Charter air transportation to Hacienda Don Quixote is available for an additional fee.
